Georgia Tech Basketball Recruiting: Yellow Jackets still in the mix for Walker
With decisions being made soon for players in the 2017 recruiting cycle who are uncommitted, there are plenty of updates on five-star shooting guard MJ Walker.
Five-star shooting guard MJ Walker played in Wednesday night’s McDonald’s All-American game and with that, there are updates on his recruitment. Earlier this week, there was updates provided on four-star forward Jordan Tucker. The Atlanta native and star guard for Jonesboro is currently the sixth-highest ranked player uncommitted in the 2017 recruiting cycle.
According to ESPN national director Paul Biancardi of recruiting, Georgia Tech is still well in the mix for Walker who provided seven schools to Biancardi.
Out of those seven schools the three schools that are not surprising is Florida State, Maryland, and obviously Georgia Tech. Currently, it seems as though Florida State and Georgia Tech are two favorites with Maryland not far behind the two.

Walker’s last known visit to Georgia Tech came on February 19th during the Yellow Jackets 71-65 victory over Syracuse. Walker who has still not taken any official visits to any of the schools is hoping to do soon according to Jacob Polachek of d1vision.com.
Outside of those three teams, the one team that will be interesting to watch is Kansas. That being said, Kansas is a stacked team at shooting guard including 2015 five-star Malik Newman who had to sit out this season due to transferring from Mississippi State last July.
Currently the Yellow Jackets 2017 recruiting class features commitments from PG Jose Alvarado and SG Curtis Haywood II. With recruits needing to make decisions by the beginning of May, decisions for any uncommitted recruits will be coming in rapidly over the next month.
