After a week that seen the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have only one game and enter the week No.17 in the AP Top 25, the Yellow Jackets somehow moved down one spot to No.18 in the latest AP poll.

The Yellow Jackets lone game last week was against the Clemson Tigers, who came into the game 10-7. The Yellow Jackets would defeat the Tigers 89-65, in what was perhaps their best offensive showing of the season, with six Yellow Jackets scoring in double figures and junior guard Tonie Morgan putting up the first triple double in 23 years for the program.

The game was a big one for the Yellow Jackets to put their season back on track after losing three straight games after starting the season 15-0. The losing streak started with a double overtime loss to Virginia Tech, then lost back-to-back games to Louisville and No.3 Notre Dame. The Yellow Jackets have been without freshman phenom Dani Carnegie for the last three games after being injured in the team’s loss to Virginia Tech.

With how dominant the Yellow Jackets looked it is a surprise that the team dropped in the polls at all. The team that made the jump over the Yellow Jackets was the West Virginia Mountaineers, who beat the Colorado Buffaloes and Iowa State Cyclones.

This week for the Yellow Jackets, they will be on the road against the Virginia Cavaliers on Thursday before a highly-anticipated matchup at home against the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday.
