If you would have asked Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fans how they thought the next string of games that the Yellow Jackets would play would go, very few would have said that they could have seen the Yellow Jackets losing three straight games, but that’s exactly what the team is batting right now.
The Yellow Jackets have lost three straight for the first time this season, starting with the No.9 ranked NC State Wolfpack on Feb. 20, then another loss to the Florida State Seminoles 73-70 at home on Feb. 22, before finally losing their most recent outing to the California Golden Bears 79-65.
The Yellow Jackets offense has been noticeable lackluster recently, with Kara Dunn and Tonie Morgan being perhaps the team’s two most consistent players as of lately. Dunn has scored in double digits in eight of the team’s last nine games. Morgan has scored in double figures in seven of the team’s last eight games.
A lot of the struggles that the team has been having is due to the increased quality of competition, as the Yellow Jackets have lost to three of the top seven teams in three straight games.
With the ACC tournament right around the corner, the Yellow Jackets will need to get the quality of play that they need in order to enter the tournament with some momentum, trying to prove that the team’s 15-0 start to the season was not just a fluke.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Sunday as they travel to take on the Stanford Cardinal in their last regular season game.
