Game three of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' homestand four-game series against the Marshall Thundering Herd took place on Sunday, and the Yellow Jackets would head into the game coming off of their first loss of the season when the Thundering Herd beat them 4-2 on Saturday. So how would the Yellow Jackets rebound?

The scoring started early and often for the Yellow Jackets, as they would score the game's first run in the second inning when outfielder Caleb Daniel reached on an error to put the Yellow Jackets up 1-0.

The next inning, Yellow Jackets first baseman Kent Schmidt would hit a double to bring in Kyle Lodise, and the very next batter, designated hitter Alex Hernandez, would hit his second home run of the season to bring him and Schmidt home to put the Yellow Jackets up 4-0.

Outfielder Drew Burress would get his first RBI of the game in the fourth inning when he hit a double to bring home second baseman Carson Kerce to put the Yellow Jackets up 5-3.

In the fifth inning, the Yellow Jackets would separate themselves from the Thundering Herd again, as they would get a run from Hernandez on a fly out by Parker Brosius, and a three-run home run by catcher Drew Rogers, his first of the season, to put the Yellow Jackets up 9-3.

Yellow Jackets third baseman Vahn Lackey would hit a single in the sixth to bring home Schmidt to put the Yellow Jackets up 10-3.

The final run of the day for the Yellow Jackets came in the eighth inning when Connor Shouse would get brought home on a sacrifice flyout to put the Yellow Jackets up 11-3.

The Yellow Jackets would win the contest 11-6.
