The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets came into their matchup against the Marshall Thundering Herd with a lot of confidence in the lineup, as they had just run ruled the team yesterday in a 12-1 defeat that was stopped in the seventh inning.

However, that confidence was quickly shattered as the Yellow Jackets would only produce two runs in the entire contest en route to a 4-2 defeat to the hands of the Thundering Herd.

From the opening pitch, the Yellow Jackets would struggle to get a hit, as their first one of the game did not happen until the third inning, when shortstop Kyle Lodise would start the inning off with a double before being brought home on a groundout by first baseman Kent Schmidt to tie the game at 1-1.

The Yellow Jackets would not score again until the bottom of the sixth inning, when outfielder Parker Brosius would hit a single and bring home second baseman Caleb Daniel from second base to give the Yellow Jackets their first lead of the game, making the score 2-1 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.

However, the Thundering Herd would score three runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 4-2 lead, and the Yellow Jackets offense could not produce another run for the team. They had opportunities, facing a situation in the bottom of the seventh inning with bases loaded and two outs, but catcher/infielder Vahn Lackey would hit a groundout.

In the bottom of the eighth and ninth inning, the Yellow Jackets would leave two men on base, with no runs scored.
