The ACC released their matchups for Week 0 and Week 1 for the 2025 college football season, and while there are some good matchups that include Florida State vs Alabama, LSU vs Clemson, and Notre Dame vs Miami, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will have a battle to start the season as well, as they travel to Boulder, Colorado to take on the Colorado Buffaloes on Aug. 30 at 8:30pm Eastern time.
The 8:30 start time will be a late one, but it was expected with the Yellow Jackets travelling time zones to the Mountain time zone.
The Buffaloes will head into the game losing their two top players from las season, quarterback Shadeur Sanders, and two-way receiver/cornerback and last season's Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter. With five-star quarterback Julian Lewis headed to the Buffaloes to take over for Sanders, the question will loom as to what Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders will bring to the table without two of the best players in the country.
On the other side of the field will be the Yellow Jackets, who are returning every major contributor from last season's team except for star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr, who left somewhat of a hole for the Yellow Jackets at the position, but head coach Brent Key has been at work in the transfer portal , bringing in three possible suitors for the position: Debron Gatling, Eric Rivers, and Dean Patterson.
It will be the first time that the two teams will face each other, but they do have a unique achievement: they each have a split of the 1990 National Championship.
