The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team will have a chance to avenge one of the team's biggest and most heartbreaking losses this season, as they will play the Virginia Tech Hokies in the first round of the ACC Tournament tomorrow in a win or go home situation.

The Hokies ended the Yellow Jackets 15-game winning streak to begin the season in a thrilling double overtime 105-94 defeat. The 15-0 start is the best in Georgia Tech's history. However, that game would also create a challenge for the Yellow Jackets, as they would also lose standout freshman guard Dani Carnegie to a hamstring injury, sidelining her for the next three games.

Losing Carnegie and the game would begin a shift for the team over the last half of the basketball season, as they would finish the season on a 6-8 stretch, including losing the last four times that they have taken the court.

The team has not been the same since that game on Jan. 6, and neither has Carnegie. Carnegie had an impressive 29-point game against the Virginia Cavaliers in her first game back, but since then, she has been ice cold, scoring in double digits four times in nine games, including a three-game stretch against Duke, Miami, and SMU where she shot 5-33 from the field and 1-21 from beyond the arc in that stretch.

The Yellow Jackets have struggled as of late, but now is the time for them to shine, when the light is the brightest, and when their backs are against the wall, and getting a win against a team that has been sitting in the back of fans heads since Jan. 6 will be something that will fuel the fire for the Yellow Jackets.
