Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football wide receiver Abdul Janneh Jr. has become the newest edition to a long list of Yellow Jackets that will suit up for other teams next season, as he has entered the transfer portal.
Janneh totalled 13 catches for the Yellow Jackets over the last two seasons, accumulating 231 yards and two touchdowns. Before coming to the Yellow Jackets, Janneh played for the Duqesne Dukes, where he put together one great season in his three years with the program, the 2022-23 season, where he hauled in 43 passes for 579 yards and an astonishing nine touchdwns.
Wile the transfer wasn't a huge blow to the Yellow Jackets due to low productivity, he still could have provided stability in a position group that the Yellow Jackets needed it after the transfer of star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr, and the loss of Chris Lane due to graduation.
The transfer likely means that two players that Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key has been high on heading into next season are incoming transfers Florida International wide receiver Eric Rivers and South Carolina wide receiver Debron Gatling.
Janneh could be a producer for whichever team he chooses to sign with, as he has proven that he can have a good receiving season, but the main value that a team will get from him will be his run blocking ability, especially given his frame: a tall receiver at 6'3" and 195 pounds.
Janneh will have two years of eligibility remaining.
