With star freshman Dani Carnegie missing her third game in a row, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have had to try to rely on increased production from multiple players to remain in the AP Top 25. Those plans came full circle yesterday when the Yellow Jackets hosted the Clemson Tigers, as the team had six players score at least ten points, resulting in a 89-65 win for the Yellow Jackets.

After losing their last three games, the Yellow Jackets needed a win to get the momentum back on their side for the season.

The Yellow Jackets started the game off red hot, making four of their first five shots, building and 8-0 lead, and took that momentum and ran with it, being up 27-13 at the end of the first quarter. The Yellow Jackets would outscore the Tigers 19-13 in the second quarter, build up a 46-26 lead at halftime.

Fom there, it just got worse for the Tigers, and soon enough they looked up at the scoreboard at the final buzzer and found themselves with a 89-65 defeat.

Six Yellow Jackets scored in double figures in the contest. Kara Dunn lead the team with 20 points, Kayla Blackshear finished with 19, Tianna Thompson finished with 13, Rusne Augustinaite finished with 11, Chazadi Wright finished with 10, but the best performance of the night came from Tonie Morgan, who put up her first career triple double. Morgan scored 12 points, dished out 14 assists, and grabbed 12 rebounds in a valiant effort.

The Yellow Jackets will be back in action Thursday, as they take on the Virginia Cavaliers on the road.
