The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets annual football spring game, the White and Gold game, has now officially has a date, with the game taking place on April 12.

There will be a lot for fans to look forward to in the game, as it sometimes serves as a way to solve position battles within the team, and there will be plenty of those this spring.

Most notably, the Yellow Jackets will be looking for someone to step up as a premiere receiver for the team after the departure of star wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr this offseason. Transfers such as Eric Rivers, Dean Patterson, and Debron Gatling could make use of the spring game, as well as returning Yellow Jackets wide receiver Malik Rutherford, who led the team in receptions last season with 62, and finished second on the team in receiving yards, with 702.

The game could also give the team their first look at five-star offensive tackle Josh Petty, who became just the second five-star player in the program's history this offseason.

While there will be position battles, two players that the Yellow Jackets will lean on to lead both offenses for the game are quarterback Haynes King and running back Jamal Haynes, with each having younger players that they can guide this season. King is in his last season with the team, so coaching up freshman quarterback Aaron Philo will be the task at hand, while Haynes will try to coach up Penn junior running back transfer Malachi Hosley.
